Our Recommendations

When taking the VW camper vans away ourselves, there are a number of things we always consider and these have helped us find some really great places to stay over the years.

Firstly, any campsite we go to must allow dogs. Nigel, our black lab comes with us everywhere we go and if he’s not allowed on the campsite, we’re not staying.

The second thing we try to look for are the smaller, more peaceful campsites, which let nature and the great outdoors speak for themselves. We don’t want a large, commercial campsite with a kids club, swimming pool and club house, although we appreciate the benefits these types of sites offer to other people.

The final thing we look for is a good pub within walking distance of the campsite, and of course the pub needs to be dog friendly, as Nigel likes to socialise with the locals. So with these thoughts in mind, here are some of our favourite places to stay and socialise:
